Bonnie Grice Obituary

The family of Sister Bonnie Watts Grice, in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Grice family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.

Sister Bonnie Watts Grice was 73, and departed this life Monday March 30, 2020 in Florence County. She was the mother of Mark Langley of Florida, Stephen Ellison of Maryland, Dana Watts of South Carolina. You may visit the family at the home of her sister Alene Burgess at 3314 Bluff Rd. Mullins, SC 29574.

Graveside services are scheduled to be held at the Devotion Gardens Cemetery on Monday April 6, 2020 at 11:00 am. A guest list will be provided by the family.

OBITUARY

Bonnie “Pocket” Grice was born April 8, 1946 in Jacksonville, NC and departed this life, March 30, 2020 in Florence County. She was the daughter of Jesses Mae Burgess and George Langley. She grew up in Marion County and was a graduate of Johnakin High School Class of 1965. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Earnesteen Nichols and one brother, Lee Burgess.

Bonnie was employed with Sara Lee Hosiery and retired after 30 years.

She accepted Christ at an early age. She was lifelong member of St, Stephens Baptist Church where she served faithfully and on many auxiliaries; Senior Choir, Usher Board, Hospitality Committee, Sunday School Teacher. She was also a member of Queen Esther Chapter 239, OES Universal, Rains, SC.

Bonnie was a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She leaves to cherish her memory, Three children: Mark Langley of Florida, Stephen (Maya) Ellison of Maryland and Dana Watts of Florence. Eight grandchildren, One Great grandchild. Three sisters and one brother: Betty Johnson of Marion, SC, Victoria (Rutho) Johnson of Florence, SC, Alene Burgess and George Burgess of Marion, Eight Nieces, Six Nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death Lester Ellison, Michael Watts, Saint Elmo Grice and Johnny Miles. Bonnie will be missed by all her family and friends and will live on forever in our hearts.
