Annie Pernell Obituary

Mother Annie Mae Pernell was 83, and departed this life Monday October 26, 2020 in Florence County. She was the mother of Phyllis Davis, Mike Pernell, Cliston Pernell and Harry Davis. You may visit the family at 3017 Serenity Rd. Mullins, SC.

Gravside services are scheduled to be held at the Smithboro Cemetery, Smithboro, SC, Sunday November 8, 2020 at 2:00pm. Services will be live stream on the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page. 

~ Obituary ~

“ I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the rights judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4: 7-8

In obedience to our Heavenly Father….Mother Annie Mae Swinton Pernell transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on Monday October 26, 2020 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Florence, SC.

Mother Annie Mae was born in Mullins, SC on March 15, 1937 to the late Vinnie and Sam Swinton. At an early age she gave her life to Christ and joined Everbee Baptist Church and attended until her health failed. She attended public school in Marion County SC. And after 35 years she retied from So-Packing in Mullins. 

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Dennis Pernell. To this union they were blessed with five children. Two sons: Glen Pernell and Joe Dennis Pernell preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her fond and loving memories: one daughter: Phyllis Pernell (Leon) Davis of Florence SC; three sons: Harry (Claire) Davis of Zion, SC, Mike (Leah) Pernell of Marion, SC and Cliston (Audrey) Pernell of Mullins, SC; three grands she help raise: Lakisha (Terry) Brantley of Sion, SC, Camelius (Casey) Pernell of Charleston, SC, Antwan Pernell of Columbia, SC, two sisters: Geneva Moody of Florence, SC and Frances Fox of Virginia. Two daughters-in-law; Hattie Form Pernell and Cynthia James Pernell of New Jersey. One sister in law; Easter Swinton; 11 grands, 29 great grands, 2 great, great grands. A special friend Patricia Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

The family of Mother Annie Mae Pernell, in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided to hold a private 50 people or less, family only, funeral service for their loved one with private interment immediately following. While the Pernell family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic  health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
