Mr. Thomas Mclendon Jr. 64, departed this life on Friday August 11 in Marion County. He was the husband of Marcella Mclendon. You may visit the family  at 2621 Nichols Rd. Mullins, in the Rains Community. Service arrangements are scheduled for 2:00pm Wednesday August 16 at the New Hope Holiness Church in the Rains Community. He will be laid to rest in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Marion.

Mr. Thomas Mclendon Jr. was the son of the late Mr. Thomas Elester McClellan and Mrs. Mattie Mae Gerald McClellan. Thomas was born on July 18, 1953 in Marion County.

He departed his life on August 11, 2017 at Carolina Hospital System after a brief illness.

Thomas attended the public schools of Marion County, Terrell’s Bay High School. He worked at Marion Concrete for twenty nine years where he retired. After retiring , Thomas started his lawn service until his passing.

In 2007 he was joined in holy matrimony to Marcella Jones Mclendon.

He was preceded in death by a sister Mattie L. Williams.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories to his loving wife of the home Marcella Jones Mclendon, Mullins, SC and his seven children, Bryan Johnson (Tamela), Thomas Allen (Lekisha) and Tonya Johnson (Joe) all of Marion, SC., Timothy Allen (Sameatra) and Donte’ Gore (Felicia) both of Florence, SC. Demetrius Gore and Deondra Gore of Mullins, SC. His mother Mattie Mae Gerald McClellan. Nine siblings; Sallie Mae Page, Ella (Ben, deceased), Mason, Eloise (Billy) Mullins, Wayne (Margie) McClellan, Franklin (Betty) McClellan, Bonnie (David) Crawford, Edward McClellan, Sherrin Brooks and Glenda (Reginald) Nichols, two brother in laws Michael (Margaret) Washington of Mullins, SC and Pastor Donnie G. Washington, Sr. (Gwendolyn) of Dillon, SC, one sister in law Shirley Washington of Loris SC and a mother in law Mary Louise Washington of Mullins, SC and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
