Tamela Woodberry Obituary

Sister Tamela Woodberry, 39, departed this life on Saturday, January 11, 2020 in Florence, SC. She was the daughter of Mr. Alexander and Mrs. Gloria Gilchrist Woodberry. Sis. Tamela was also the sister of Kevin Woodberry, Melvin Woodberry and Amy Wodberry. Sis. Woodberry was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

Funeral service for Sis. Tamela Woodberry is scheduled to be held on Friday, January 17 at 12noon in the Fresh Beginnings Christian Center, Dillon, SC. She will be laid to rest in the Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery in Fork, SC. Friends of the family and Mullins High School classmates are asked to please serve as flower and pall bearers.

Tamela Renee Woodberry quietly slipped into eternal rest on January 11, 2020 at McLeod Medical Center of Florence, SC after an illness.

Tamela Renee Woodberry was born on June 10, 1980 to Mr. Alexander and Gloria Gilchrist Woodberry in Mullins, South Carolina.

At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal Savior. She was a faithful and dedicated member Shiloh United Methodist Church, Fork SC.  She was a member of and the Praise Dance Team of five group in the church and was also committed in helping with other Praise Ministry in other churches.

Tamela Renee Woodberry attended Mullins High School and graduated in 1998.  She was employed at Burger King, Blumenthal Mill and was a School Bus Aide.  She also was a Caretaker for her father until her health began to decline. 

Tamela Renee Woodberry leaves to cherish precious memories; her loving and devoted parents, Alexander and Gloria Woodberry; two brothers Kevin Woodberry of Charlotte, NC; Melvin (Karen) Woodberry of Florence, SC; one sister Amy Woodberry of Mullins SC; a cousin she called her sister Vickie J. Nichols of Mullins; and Minister Bobby Purnell she called her brother of Dillon; classmate Bradford Leonard of Florida she called brother; A loving caring aunt she called Mom, Delores Lloyd; one nephew Darius Melvin (MJ) Woodberry who was like a son; two great aunts; Alice Reaves of Philadelphia and Mary Robinson of Boston Massachusetts; seven aunts; Jacqueline Peppers of Columbia SC; Delores Lloyd; Joyce (Pastor Cleveland )Wright of Dillon; Annie Mae Nelson, Alice Faye Woodberry of Mullins; Lillie Ann Woodberry of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Marjorie ( Ken) Douglas of Temple Texas; fourteen uncles; Charlie (Gene) Robinson of Bridgeport Connecticut; Leroy Gilchrist of New York; James Gilchrist of Fork; Johnny (Mona) Gilchrist; Bobby (Myra) Gilchrist; Pastor Ricky (Annie) Gilchrist; Deacon Randolph (Felicia) Gilchrist all of Dillon; Robert Woodberry Jr., Wallace (Betty) Woodberry, Lee David all of Mullins; David (Mary) Woodberry, Kenneth (Alice) Woodberry all of Texas; Sammy Lee, James Campbell; three nieces, seven nephews, one great nephew, one great niece and a host cousins and friends.
