Bro. Steven Davis, 65, departed this life on Saturday June 23, 2018 at his home in Marion County. He was the brother of Mary Fling, Curlee Bryant, Shirley Newsome, Catherine Williams, Cheryl Davis, Jessie Davis, Sammy Davis, Daniel Davis, Clifton Davis and Eddie Davis. You may visit the family at 2417 Lanneau Snipes Rd. Marion.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Good Hope AME Church, Centenary, Tuesday July 3, at 3:00pm. He will be laid to rest in the Centerville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Steven Davis transitioned early Saturday, June 23, 2018. He was born in Marion County on January 6, 1953 to the late Lloyd Junior and Ella Mae Davis.

Steven was educated in Marion County public schools in Centenary, SC. As a young man his employment was with Seacoast Café, Ocean City, New Jersey. He later returned to Marion County. Burger King of Marion was his employer.

Like most at an early age, his paternal training led him to affiliate himself with Good Hope A.M.E. Church, Centenary, SC. Declining health did not take away his beaming smile or his sense of humor. He was a passionate bicyclist and cook.

Steven was united in holy matrimony to Mrs. Mary Louise Davis. He leaves to cherish his love and fond memories to his wife Mrs. Mary Louise Davis of Marion, SC. One step-daughter, Sherri Davis of New Jersey. Six sisters: Mary Alice Fling and Cheryl Davis of Centenary, South Carolina; Curlee (Timothy) Bryant and Shirley Ann Newsome of Marion, South Carolina; Catherine Davis of Jamaica, New York. Willie Dean Gause preceded him in death. Five brothers: Jessie (Laura) Davis and Sammy Davis of Rains, South Carolina; Daniel (Doretha) Davis of Pleasantville, New Jersey; Clifton (Jennifer) Davis and Eddie (Fannie) Davis of Marion, South Carolina. Seven aunts: Geraldine Maultbys of Centenary, South Carolina. Six preceded him in death; Jacquelyn, Meredith, Lucille, Rosa Mae, Emma Lee, and Mozella. Twelve uncles: Minister Jimmy Gause and Judge Davis of Marion, South Carolina; Guy Davis of Key West Florida, Hezekiah Davis of Jamaica, New York. Eight preceded him in death; Herbert, Lacy, Nathaniel, Sampson, Frank, Raymond, James, and Willie Mack. Six sisters-in-law. Seven brothers-in-law. Three preceded him in death. One dear best friend, Mr. Claude Perry of Marion, SC. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
