Sis. Mary Lee Phillips, 65, departed this life in Florence, SC. Sis. Mary Lee Phillips was the wife of Mr. Malichia Finklea.  The family will receive visitation at 124 Middleton Street, Marion, SC.

Services will be Monday, August 5. 2019 at 3:00pm at the Jackson & McGill Memorial Chapel, 612 South Main Street.  Burial will be in the Jobs Cemetery on Highway 41, Marion, SC.

Today a beautiful rose was picked from our family. There’s a higher calling we answer to and our beloved Mary Lee Phillips so peacefully answered.

Mary Lee Phillips departed this earthly life on Tuesday, July 30, 2019. She was born to the late Clarence and Annie Thompson on December 28, 1953 in Marion County, South Carolina. She was educated in the public schools of Marion, South Carolina. Mary Lee accepted Christ and was member of St. Stephens Baptist Church of Marion South Carolina until her health declined.

May Lee was a quiet, humble, loving woman who was the backbone and strength of her beautiful family. She loved cooking, completing cross word puzzles, and watching television- especially  Family Fues and her favorite Westerns.

Mary Lee was preceded in death by her mother and father: Annie and Clarence Thompson; her sisters: Catherine Grant and Annie Ruth McCullough.

Mary Lee’s memories will be cherished by her life partner of thirty-five years: Malichia “Butch” Finklea of the home; eight nieces and nephews that she cared for as her own: Marcus (Tassie) Grant, Yolanda Grant, Michael Thompson, Laura Mae McCullough, Debra “Niecy” McCollars, Donna (Desmond) McGill and Mary Yvonne Phillips; her great nieces  and nephews: Ticory, Shiqwanna, Caquan McCullough, Damarcus, Qua’Zeak, Dajuan, Dyasia and Nyasia Robinson, Anton Warren, Ranisha Hemingway, NyKeese and Jarontay “Whooper” McCollars: twenty great-great nieces and nephews all of Marion, South Carolina; her close friend: Peggy Eaddy and a host of other relatives and friends.
