Sister Shelley Jean Graves, 63, departed this life Sunday March 3, 2019 in Horry County. She was the mother of Shametra Graves and Brittany Graves. You may visit the family at the home of her sister Brenda Gause at 266 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Gresham, SC.
Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Bethel AME Church, Britton's Neck Friday March 8, 2019 at 2:00 pm. She will be laid to rest in the Old Neck Cemetery, Britton's Neck, SC.

Ms. Shelley “Shirley “ Jean Graves was born Nov.12, 1955 in Marion SC to the late Mr. Howard and Ocala Graves. Shirley departed this life on Sunday March 3,2019 at Conway Medical Center in Conway, SC.
She was a member of Bethel A.M.E Church of Gresham SC where she also sung on the senior choir.
Shirley graduated from Maury High school in Norfolk, VA then obtained her cosmetology license at the Anne’s School of Cosmetology in Norfolk, VA.
Later on she opened a beauty shop on hwy. 378 in Gresham SC. Also, Shirley was employeed by Wal-Mart for nearly 15 years as well as worked in the school system as a bus driver and a cafeteria worker in different periods on her life.
She leaves to cherish her fond and loving memory, two daughters Shametra Graves of Conway, SC and Brittney Graves of Myrtle Beach, SC. One grandson Jordan Graves, four sisters and three brother: Brenda (James P. Gause), Alfreda Graves of Britton’s Neck SC, Howard (Sherry) Graves Jr. of Norfolk VA, Rayfield (Carolyn) Graves of Norfolk VA, Calvin (Janice) Graves of Chesapeake VA, Pertenia ( Rudolph) Turner of Portsmouth VA., Melody Thomas of Virginia Beach VA. ,Three aunts: Elease and Bettie Graves of Gresham Sc., Alice Dozier of Philadelphia PA. ,and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
