Father Samuel David McKenzie, 82, departed this life on Tuesday December 25, 2018 at his home in Latta, SC. He was the husband of Susie McKenzie. You may visit the family at 1511 Hwy. 917 West, Latta, SC.
Funeral services are scheduled to be St. John AME Church, Marion Sunday December 30, 2018 at 2:00 pm. He will be laid to rest in the Williams Cemetery in the Temperance Hill Community.

Samuel David McKenzie was born on September 6, 1936 in Dillon SC. He was the son of the late Mr. Delton McKenzie and Mrs. Ruth Dingle McKenzie. He was reared by a special aunt/mother. Mrs. Louise Dingle McKenzie. He entered into eternal rest peacefully at home on December 25, 2018.
On February 12, 1956, Samuel married his wife of sixty-two years., Susie Williams McKenzie. To this blessed union four children were born.
Samuel worked for the Spotford Juvenile Detention Center of New York, he retired in 1995.
Preceding him in death were his parents: Delton McKenzie and Ruth Dingle McKenzie, aunt Louise D. McKenzie, two sons: Samuel D. McKenzie Jr. and Samuel Casey, two sisters: Creola Palmer, Annie German, two brothers: Moses McKenzie and Willie aka "Brother" Edwards, two sisters-n-law: Beatrice Mckenzie and Louise McKenzie and brother -n-law Richard Palmer.
Samuel leaves to cherish memories his loving and devoted wife, Susie McKenzie, two daughters; Barbara Smith, Vanzailer (Willie) Page of Marion, SC, two sons; Russell (Debra) McKenzie of Marion, SC, Samuel (Yolanda) McCormick of Dillon, SC, one brother; Delton McKenzie Jr. of Dillon, SC, one sister; Mary Ruth McDuffie of Charlotte NC, once uncle; Theodore (Julia) McKenzie of Maxton, NC, sister-n-law; Kathy McFarland of Bronx New York, brother-n-law; Albert (Ann) Williams of Latta, SC, George (Bobbie) Williams of Marion SC, Sylvester (Mildred) Williams of Charlotte, NC, James German of Dillon, SC, daughter-n-law; Jane McKenzie of Florida and Margaret E. Casey of Lumberton, NC, twenty grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild. Special friends; Lawrence Brown of Latta, SC, Robert Worthy of NC, special love for his grandson; Brandon, Don`dre, Carlton and Russell, and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
