Rayford Stuckey Obituary

Brother Rayford "Big Dog" Stuckey, 60, departed this life Wednesday  September 11, 2019 in Charleston, SC. He was the husband of Christine Stuckey. You may visit the family at 133 Havenwood Rd. Marion.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the CD Joyner Auditorium Saturday September 21, 2019 at 1:00 pm. He will be laid to rest in the Devotion Gardens Cemetery, Mullins.

Rayford Stuckey as born, April 23, 1959, to the late Belree Stuckey, and the late Vander Lee Ellis.

He was a 1977 graduate of Hannah Pamplico High School.

Rayford work various jobs before he and his partner started their own company, known as “Big Dog Concrete Finishing”. They have been in business for over twenty plus years, which is a very successful business.

Rayford gift was working in concrete, he loved what he did, and it showed in the work he produced. He made sure his customers were very satisfied when he completed a job.

His company is very well known in South and North Carolinas for his great and beautiful work they produced.

At an early age he joined St. Luke AME Church, Johnsonville SC, and he would sometimes attend St. Mary AME Church, where he would support with his tithes and offerings.

Rayford was known to many by “Big Dog”, he never met a stranger, he was a hardworking man with a big heart, and use his skills to help others. He had that way about him when relating to people.

Rayford loved traveling, visiting friends and family, but most of all he loved eating good food with a passion. He would comment, that he was a professional eater. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, molding and training them how to be responsible. They were the joy of his life.

Rayford is preceded in death, by his sisters; Mary Stuckey and Sarah Lee Parker, brother; Jacob Belin, father in law; Rev. Pearlie Legette, mother in law; Rosie Lee Legette.

Rayford leaves his fond memories to the love of his life his wife; Christine Stuckey, one son he raised, Demetrus Moore, stepdaughter; Latondra Reed, stepson; Andrew M. Reed Jr. six grandchildren; Destiny, Zaire, Zorreah, Zala, Demyla, and Karionna, two sisters; Minister Deborah (Alfort) Belin, Minister Sylvia (Curtis) Davis, of Pamplico SC,  three brothers; Esaw Belin, Pamplico SC, Levander Lee Ellis, Lauraton Queens New York, James Stuckey, Lake City SC, three brother in laws, Pearley (Rebecca) Legette, James (Pecolia) Legette, Earnest Legette, all of Marion SC, five aunts; Rozenna  Ellis of Johnsonville SC, Rena Ellis of Sumter SC, Sarah Hughes and Agnes Wright of Florence SC, Marsona Davis, Rochester New York, three uncles; Rev. Mckinley (Ruth) Ellis, Detroit Michigan, Benjamin (Hannah) Stuckey , Johnsonville SC, Frank Hamilton, Mullins SC,a special big sister, Vicki Hemingway, Parkton NC, a special brother and longtime friends, Doug & Sandy Hyman, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends .
