Pricilla Rogers Obituary

Sister Pricilla Rogers, 68, departed this life Thursday September 26, 2019 in Florence County. She was the mother of Veronica Rogers, Charles Rogers and La"Toria Rogers Reed. You may visit the family at 1564 Smith Mill Pond Rd. Marion.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church Sunday October 6, 2019 at 3:00 pm She will be laid to rest in the Old Neck Cemetery.

Pricilla “Dean” Rogers entered into eternal rest on Thursday September 26, 2019 at the MUSC Hospital, Florence, South Carolina. She was born February 19, 1951 to the late Teams and Creola Dozier.

Dean attended the public schools in Marion County and graduated from Bethel High School in 1969. She was employed by Anvil Knitwear for a number of years. Dean retired from the former Marion County School District 4 where she was a Teacher’s Aide and Afterschool Coordinator. She also was a substitute teacher for the Marion County School District 7.

She was loved by many. Every student was her favorite no matter what. Dean was very big on serving her community in any capacity. Willing to lend a helping hand even until her death.

Dean was a member of the Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Adult Choir and Missionary Board. She was also a honorary member of The House of God, Keith Dominion, Centenary, SC.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late O’Neil Rogers and is preceded in death by her step-son Eric Graves, sister, Mary Jane Hemingway and brothers James Dozier and Woodrow Dozier.

She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories her children: Veronica Rogers of the home, La’Toria (Henry) Reed of Marion, SC, Erica Graves of Norfolk, VA and Charles Rogers of Simpsonville., SC, three grandchildren: Daveon Reed, Kore Faniel and Tanasia Reed. Her siblings; Franklin (Linda) Dozier of Britton’s Neck, SC, Mazie Woodberry of Britton’s Neck and Carolyn (Bobby) Burley of Mullins, Aunt, Buelah Hayward of Andrews, SC, goddaughter, Barbara Hughes of the Friendship Community. In laws; Ann Harley, Carl Hemingway, Gloria Rogers, Victoria Owens, Drucilla Rogers and LeVon Rogers, special cousin Henrietta and Thomas Hemingway and Shuler Graves. Special friends; Lorenzo (Peggy) Taylor, Annette Moore, Darlene Woodberry, Mary Willis and Maxine Gasque and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
