Maxcel Timmons Obituary

Mother Maxcel Timmons, 74, departed this life on Satruday July 28, 2018 in Marion County. She was the mother of Darold Reed and Stella Neal. You may visit the family at 1212 Quarters Ct. Marion.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, Marion, Sunday August 5, 2018 at 3:00pm. Mother Maxcel Timmons will be laid to rest in the Centerville Baptist Church Cemetery in Centenary, South Carolina.

Mrs. Maxcel Reed Timmons, daughter of the late Burnie Reed Sr. and Lillie Mae Legette Reed was born on June 12, 1944 in Centenary SC. She entered into eternal rest on Saturday July 28, 2018 at her home surrounded by her daughter, family and love ones.

Mrs. Maxcel received her education in the public schools of Marion County. She worked at Maxwell Housem Tandem Clothing Company and as a Nurses Aide, all in New Jersey until she retired. Upon retiring she relocated to Marion SC. Maxcel followed what the scripture said and joined Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of the Usher Board, Pastor’s Aide and worked anywhere in the church. Maxcel answer, when asked to help at church was always, “yes I’ll do what I can.”

Maxcel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Pernell Timmons and two brothers; Burnie Reed Jr. and Wilbert Reed.

Maxcel leaves to cherish fond and loving memories one son Darold (Kimberly) Reed and one daughter Stellatesha (Daniel) Neal both of the home, six stepchildren Cora Timmons, Renata Timmons and Dana Timmons, Darlene (Kenneth) Davis, Dewayne (Phoebe) Legette of Centenary and Jeanette Cooper of Mullins, SC., six grandchildren; Hason Timmons of Marion, Justin Neal of the home, Kawon Lewis of North Carolina, Latesha Lewis of North Carolina, Darold Brown of Virginia and Marcus Epps of New Jersey, eighteen step grand children, seventeen great grands, two loyal and devoted loving friends/sisters Linda Steele and Rachel Legette. A special cousin/sister Jeanette Gause of Jersey City, New Jersey, special niece Vivian Foxworth of Marion, SC and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
