Mother Mary Grace Lacy, 85, departed this life on Wednesday May 30, 2018 in Marion County. You may visit the family at 303 Huggins St. Marion.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the True Fellowship Church Sunday June 3 at 3:30pm. She will be laid to rest in the Jackson & Daughters Cemetery, Marion.

Mrs. Mary Grace Lacy was the daughter of the late Alex and Cherry Davis. She was born on October 25, 1932 in Marion South Carolina. She departed this earthly life on Tuesday May 30, 2018 in the Carolina Hospital System of Marion, surrounded by her family.

As a youth, she was educated in Marion County Schools. She soon developed a love for cooking as she worked for several years as a cook at both Leggs in Marion, SC and Sav-Way in Mullins, SC. She owned and operated a restaurant called Mary’s Kitchen in Marion, SC, for many years. She also had a love for dogs as she will always be remembered for breeding her much loved small breeds.

She was preceded in death by her late husband Nathaniel Lacy of Marlboro, SC, three sons; Johnny Davis of Ocean City, NJ, Jerry Davis and Gerome Brantley both of Marion, SC, and three brothers Alexander Davis and Lindsey Davis both of Brooklyn NY and Truman Davis of Ocean City, NJ.

Mrs. Mary Grace Lacy leaves to cherish fond and loving memories nine children; Mary Davis, Clifton Davis, Cherry McCall, Margaret Foxworth, Lindsay Brantley, Jacqueline (Melvin) Robinson, Eddie (Fannie) Brantley, Lisa Angelo all of Marion, SC, and Harry (LaVerne) Brantley of Hopewell Virginia, one grand child of the home, LaKeisha Whitney Brantley, one great grand child of the home James Keon Long Jr., forty grandchildren, sixty great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
