Mary Nancy Gregg

Mother Mary Nancy Gregg was 82 and departed this life Monday December 9, 2019 in Florence County. She was the mother of Roxie Gregg and Shondelle Gregg-Ferguson. You may visit the family at 1001 Gregg Ave. Florence SC. 

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Door of Hope Christian Church, Marion Saturday December 14, 2019 at 2:00 pm. She will be laid to rest in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, Amelia VA on Monday December 16, 2019. 

OBITUARY

Mary Nancy Gregg was born March 2, 1937 in Darlington, South Carolina. Her parents were the late Ernest and Lillie Backus.

She attended Mayo High School in Darlington, and resided on Coker Street. On August 12, 1953 she was married to the late William Gregg. That same year they relocated to Harlem, New York. Out of this union they had two daughters Roxie Gregg and Shondelle Gregg-Ferguson (James). She worked various jobs before becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant in 1974. After the passing of her husband, she continued to live in there home in Midlothian, Virginia. 

In November, 2006 she relocated to Darlington, SC and later moved to Florence, SC where she was residing when she transitioned with her daughters. 

Surviving relatives are daughters, Roxie Gregg, James & Shondelle Gregg-Ferguson; grandchildren, William & Lela Gregg, great-grands – Mariya, Sasha, Nytalia, Roxie and William, Jr.; Detrich & Kasha Anderson, great-grands – Zoe and Donovan; Emanuel Ferguson (Jasmine Thompson), great-grands – Javen and Emoni; Faith Ferguson.
