Obituary

On July 8, 1955, in Mullins, SC, the late Salters “Bob” Nichols and Lillie Mae Jordan Nichols welcomed a baby girl into their lives. She would be the second of three children. She would be named Lynette.

Little Lynette grew up in Mullins, SC with her two brothers: Ralph and the late Marvis. She attended the public schools of Marion County and graduated a proud Auctioneer with the class of 1973 from Mullins high School.

Her spiritual life was born and nurtured Mill Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She depended on Jesus for all of her needs. She loved hymns and spiritual songs so much that it was only natural for her to join the choir. She was a natural born helper who was always volunteering her time. This quality made her a dutiful usher.

Lynette moved to New Jersey for a brief period of time. She later returned to Mullins, SC and began her working life. Although she was a good worker for Russel Stover Candies, Sara Lee Hosiery and AVM, Lynette never left her true passion of baking. She made the decision to further her education and received an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts from Horry Georgetown Technical College.

Lynette married the late Douglas Franklin Davis. Together, they loved and raised three children: Ervon, Dionna and Terrance.

Early Wednesday morning on June 13, 2018, Lynette Nichols Davis was called from labor to reward and given her much needed rest. She was preceded in death by one brother: Marvis Nichols.

Those left to cherish the memories of Lynette include her children: Ervon Nichols and Dionna (Craig) Davis both of Charlotte, NC and Terrance (Denise) Boston of Timmonsville, SC; grandchildren: Ny’Cier Abrams, Jeremiah Davis both of Charlotte, NC; Tayvian Boston, Tyvon Boston and Tierra Green all of Timmonsville, SC; one brother: Ralph Jordan of Mullins, SC; two aunts: Janie M. Jordan of Florence, SC and Jacqueline Jordan of Mullins, SC; two brothers-in-law: Kenneth Phillips of Marion, SC and Hoyt Phillips, Jr. of Elmira, NY; very special friends: Reather Franklin, Sally Vandross, Lula Ford Davis, Easter Mae Wilson, Charlotte Reaves and Louise Wooten among many other relatives, friends and other children whom she loved and cherished as if they were her very own.
