Linda Faye Gurley

Sister Linda Faye Gurley, 55., departed this life Friday March 22, 2019 in Florence County. She was the mother of Jeffrey Gurley, Lance Gurley and Melinda Gurley-Wilson. You may visit the family at 4821 Aloha Drive, Marion.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Serenity Faith Ministries, Mullins, Saturday March 30 at 3:00pm. She will be laid to rest in the Jackson & Daughters Cemetery, Marion. 

~ Obituary ~

The Train of Eternity travels from Earth to Glory.  It has 12 cars and 365 seats. On March 22, 2019, the train pulled into the Medical University of South Carolina-Florence, and Linda Faye Gurley stepped on board. She caught coach 22 and seat 65 and road nonstop to Glory.

Linda Faye Gurley was born on April 15, 1963 in Palm Beach City, Florida to George E. Gurley and Betty Joe Gurley. She was preceded in death by her father (February 2012).  

Linda attended the public schools of Marion County.  She worked in the Hotel/Hospitality Industry for over 30 years. Linda truly loved life and lived it to the fullest.  She never met a stranger.  She celebrated and decorated for every holiday. Most of all Linda loved spending time with her children and grandkids whom she absolutely adored. 

Linda leaves to cherish the precious memories of her life three children: Melinda Gurley-Wilson (Kendrick), Jeffery Gurley, and Lance Gurley.  Also left to cherish her memories are her Mother, Betty Joe Gurley of Marion, SC, twelve siblings: Carolyn Rush of Philadelphia, PA, Vernesta Dinkins (Michael) of Charleston, SC, Teresa Reaves (David) of Marion, SC, Sharon Gurley of Philadelphia, PA, Brenda Gurley of Marion, SC, Anita Samuel (Joseph) of Georgia, George Gurley, Jr. (Evonne) of Marion, SC, Darryl Gurley of Florida, Anthony Gurley of Marion, SC, Fredrick Gurley of Columbia, SC and Curtis Gurley (Michelle) of Marion, SC. Two Very Special Aunts, Catherine G. Godfrey of Marion, SC, and Mary Alice Brown of Marion, SC, thirteen grandchildren, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
