Sis. Lillie Ruth Davis aka Carolyn, 64, departed this life Wednesday September 19, 2018 at her home in the Rains Community. She was the wife of Arthur Davis and the mother of Nicholas Davis. You may visit the family at 4022 Grady Rd. Mullins in the Rains Community. 

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Bethel Word Church, Mullins Tuesday September 25, 2018 at 1:00pm. She will be laid to rest in the New Graveyard Cemetery, Marion.

Mrs. Lillie Ruth Davis affectionately known as “Carolyn” departed this earthly life on Wednesday September 19, 2018 at her home after a brief illness. She was born on February 19, 1954 in Marion County, SC to the late Jake Howard and Minnie Ruth Davis.

She received her education in the public schools of Marion County, SC. After her education, she relocated to Jersey City, New Jersey. In 1973, she married her high school sweetheart, Arthur Davis, Jr. and to this union one child was born, Nicholas Davis.

Carolyn was employed at Sara Lee Hosiery and later retired from Precision. After her retirement, she dedicated her life to serving her neighbors, family and friends. She was a loving and giving woman and has been known to give her last to others in need.

Carolyn was a dedicated member of the Anointed Church of Deliverance under the leadership of Bishop Dr. Eugene and First Lady Brenda Parks. She served faithfully on the Pastor’s Aide and various other ministries even when her health began to decline.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her father-in-law: Arthur Davis Sr.; mother-in-law Ernestine Davis; sister-in-law; Laura Hughes; and a brother-in-law; Lester Gourdine.

She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories; her hushand; Deacon Arthur Davis Jr., her only son; Nicholas Davis of the home; four grandchildren; Nicholas Jr., Jamarion, Jacari and Destiny and one great grandson; Kaiden all of Marion, SC; one sister Barbara Gourdine and one brother; Ronnie Davis both of Rains, SC; five sisters-in-law; Lula Mae Davis, Annette Jones both of Gresham, SC, Sabrina Davis of Rains, SC, Linda Faye (Walter) James and Arabelle (Latrone) Ellerbe both of Atlanta GA; two brothers-in-law; Murray Davis of Marion, SC and Jacob Hughes of Gresham, SC; six aunts, one uncle and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Special thanks to the three aunts; Annie Lewis, Mildred Williamson and Malinda Hopper for their love, caring, sharing and lending a listening ear.
