Lee Edward Dorsey

Father Lee Edward Dorsey, 85, departed this life Monday August 12, 2019 in Columbia, SC. Beginning Friday August 16, 2019 - Monday August 19,  from 12:00 noon -7:00pm you may visit the family at 405 Dunlop St. Marion.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Greater Singletary AME Church, Marion Tuesday August 20, 2019 at 12:00 noon. He will be laid to rest in the Devotion Gardens Cemetery, Mullins.

~ Obituary ~

On the afternoon of Monday the 12th day of August the army of the lord sent his soldiers to lay Lee Dorsey to rest .

    Lee Dorsey was the son of the late Wilson Dorsey and Artenchious Dorsey , he was married to the late Barbara Dorsey. Born November 19,1933 he was the 5th child of 10 children born to them .

At a young age he joined  Singleary A.M.E Church . He attended  the Marion County Training School to gain education before expanding  his life experiences by joining the US Army then traveling to Patterson, New Jersey. While in Patterson he met his life partner Barbara Dorsey, before retiring from the Fisher Scientific Company as a Chemical Engineer (Fairlawn NJ)  and returned back to his home town the city of Marion,South Carolina where he became employed  at the Wheeler Street Packing store and made countless friends with his words of wisdom.

    He was preceded in death by James (POP) Dorsey ,Cleaveland Dorsey , Wardell Dorsey , Joe Louis Doresy , Rena Bethea , Ophelia (Ray) Buie , Minnine TreadWell. 

 He leaves to cherish his memories: Robin Bullock, Teaneck, New Jersey, Stanley ( Charm) Brinkley,  Manassas ,Virginia, Antonio (Brett) Bundick Charlotte, North Carolina, and Natasha Bundick, Columbia, South Carolina. Lee also leaves behind  seven loving grandchildren: Brittany Brinkley, Manassas Virginia, Angelica Bullock, Teaneck New Jersey, Kelsie Bundick Columbia South Carolina, Jared Bundick, Durham North Carolina, Kayla Bundick ,Charlotte, North Carolina, Taylor Brinkley, Manassas Virginia , Jaden Bundick, Charlotte North Carolina, Kamryn Bundick, Columbia, South Carolina and one special great grandchild; Jordyn Gilyard, Columbia South Carolina.

 Lee is also survived by  Brother Liston Dorsey, Sister Mazie Alston, Marion, South Carolina and  Edlonia Connor, Marion, South Carolina . Along with his sister in laws: Velma (Doll) Banks, Sumter,SC and Constance”Connie”(David) Weston, Sumter, SC, Rosa Lee Dorsey, Marion,South Carolina. Brother -in -law Willie Van (Sandra) Farmer  Ormond Florida  . With such a large family he leaving loving memories to a host of nieces, nephews and cousins . And wonderful an caring niece Gwendolyn (Chicken) Dowling .
