Bro. Kenneth Jerome Moore 46, departed this life on Thursday June 29, 2017 at his home in Latta SC. He was the husband of Bertina Diana Moore, the father of Kenneth Moore Jr., Kavonte Moore, and Theresa Moore, the son of the late Edgar and Odessa Davis Moore. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00pm Wednesday July 5, 2017 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, Marion. He will be laid to rest in the Devotion Gardens Cemetery, Mullins, SC.

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the Heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die.  Ecclesiastics 3:1-2.

On Thursday evening, June 29, 2017, an angel came into the home and ushered our beloved Kenneth J. Moore, Sr. from this earthly life to his heavenly home.

“Chucky”, as he was affectionately known, was born April 16, 1970 in Marion, South Carolina to the late Edgar and Odessa Davis Moore.

He attended the public schools of Marion County and was a 1989 graduate of Marion High School.

Kenneth was a devoted member of Strait Gate Church of the Lord Jesus Christ where he served faithfully as a Deacon. He loved the Lord and he talked about His goodness with everyone he came in contact with.

He was married to the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Bertina Robinson Moore. This union was blessed with three children.

Kenneth was a hard worker and an excellent provider for his family. He was employed at Davis of Dillon for many years until his health failed. 

To know him was to love him. He loved his family and was affectionately cherished as the “favorite uncle” to all his nieces and nephews. He loved his church and his church family. He was always willing to serve the ministry in any way that was needed.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Edgar and Odessa Moore; sisters: Lannie Moore and Betty Baxter; and brothers: Edgar Moore, Jr., Willie James Moore and Harrison Moore.

Loved ones to cherish his memory forever are, his devoted wife, Bertina Moore; a loving daughter, Theresa Moore; two sons, Kenneth Moore, Jr. and Kavonte Moore, all of the home; four sisters: Evelyn Crawford, Ella (Ronald) Shannon, Teresa (Joseph) Backus, and Delisha (Enrique) Kimpson, one brother: Randy Moore. His mother-in-law Theresa Robinson and father-in-law, George W. Riddick, Sr. Three brother in-laws: Lamont (Tesha) Burum, George W (Tiffany) Riddick, Jr. and Marcus (Taylor) Riddick. His nieces: Shelia, Veronda, Sharon, Lakesha, Chastity, Delmetrice, Dinishia, Odett, Diamondenia and Montekia; and nephews, Rangel, Melvin IV and Isaiah. His special great-niece and nephews that he helped to rear: Raven, Camron and Jermaine. A special god-son: Marvin Jones, Jr “MJ”. His special brothers: Elder Marvin Jones, Abraham Israel, Arthur “Rick” Legette, Christopher Adams, Deacon Anthony Davis and Arie Graves. His special sisters: Sis. Juanita Jones, Sis. Martha Evans, Sis. Ree Lampley, Sis. Betty Windham, and Sis. Angela Lampley. He has a host of aunts, uncles, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
