Katie Miles Brown aka Pattie

Sister Katie Miles Brown aka "Pattie", 77, departed this life Monday April 29, 2019 in Jacksonville Fla. She was the mother of Andre Bynum, Graling Bynum, Richie Bynum, Ricardo Brown, Ulysses Brown, Sabrina Bynum,  Aja Brown Fears and Gwendela Brown. You may visit the family at the home of her sister Gwen Jackson at 103 Henry L. Jackson Ct. Marion.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Bethel United Methodist Church, Marion Wednesday May 8, 2019 at 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest in the Florence National Cemetery, Florence SC.

~ Obituary ~

Katie Gene Mae Miles Brown departed this life on April 29, 2019 in Jacksonville, FL at the tender age of 77.  She was the daughter of the late Hubert and Gladys Miles. She grew up in Marion County and graduated from Johnakin High School. She moved to Chapel Hill where she attended NC Beauty College, graduating as a licensed cosmetologist.  

 Katie worked for Russell Stover Candies, she was a Girl Scout Leader, and a Band Chaperone. She was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, there she was a member of the choir. 

Katie met her dearly departed husband Samuel Brown Jr. in 1972 and married in 1974.  Katie was a wonderful wife, devoted mother, homemaker, daughter, sister, cousin, niece, an active leader in the church and the community, she was just the best. Her warm words, kind spirit, and always helpful hands will be missed. 

She was preceded in death by one sister Edna Berry, one step son Shelly Brown.

She leaves to cherish her memories four sons: Andre (Lynn) Bynum,  Graling Bynum, Richie (Crystal) Bynum, Ricardo (Marian) Brown, one step son ; Ulysses Brown, two daughters, Mary “Sabrina” Bynum, and Aja  (Steven) Fears, one step daughter Gwendela Brown, one sister Gwendolyn ( Richard) Jackson one niece Tamika (Eresent) Gaskins, one nephew Shekeh (Erica) Jackson,  twelve grandchildren:  Shaquana Brown, Shelynn (Marguette) Brockington, Jamie Brown, Jeffery (Shelia) Walker, Kendra Bynum (John Bright), Haven Brown, Brittany Bynum, DeAndre (Sheena) Bynum, Brandon Rich, Desmond (Sheena) Stackhouse, Donnie Reed Jr., Donae Reed, Auryiana Fears, and Amaury Fears, eighteen great grandchildren and seven grand nieces and nephews.

Special people to her: Nancy Johnson, Ervon Nichols, Nikki Bynum, Tara Glasper, Bonnie Wilkins, Alycia Moore, Alicia Bynum, and Traci Grant.
