Joyce Ann Barr

Sister Joyce Barr, 65, departed this life Tuesday July 9, 2019 at her home in Marion County. She was the wife of Sandy Barr Jr. the mother of Tammy Barr and Sedric Barr Sr. You may visit the family at 2712 Sagebrush Ct. Marion.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Spring Branch Baptist Church, Marion Sunday July 14, 2019 at 2:00 pm. She will be laid to rest in the Spring Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

~ Obituary ~

Mrs. Joyce Ann Graves Barr was born October 5, 1953 to the late Mayzella Graves Moody. Early on July 9, 2019 an Angel stood by her bedside and whispered “Well done my servant !!”

She converted her life at an early age and join Spring Branch Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Adult Choir.

She was educated in Marion County School and was a 1972 graduate.

She work at Heritage Sportswear, Anvil Knitwear, AVM and Beneteau and worked diligently as an CNA where she loved her clients. February 16, 1974 she was joined in holy matrimony to Sandy Barr Jr. she was blessed with two children. 

She leaves to cherish to cherish her fond and loving memories her children ; Sedrick Barr Sr. and Tammy Barr (Hardy Peterson fiance’), two step children; Jaheim and Castell Brown of Queens New York, nine grandchildren; Tyriese, RaQwan, Kyera, Sha’dedra, Sedrick Jr, TiLayzha, Travis, Keyshana (Larry) Mack, Charmayne, one great grand Makenzie, eight brothers and sisters; Ret. Msgt. Gloria Evans, Rose (Josie) Graves of Marion, SC, Diane Hemingway of Charlotte NC, Henrietta (Bobby) Davis of Concord, NC. Brenda (Ret. Msgt. Herman Haynes of Fayetteville, NC, Chuck (Cynthia) Graves of Gainesville FL, James (Shamika) Graves, GA and numerous sisters and brothers from far and near. Her mother-in-law Ruth Barr of Marion, SC, seven brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, two god-daughters; Tammie and Lakiah, two special friends; Mattie Reed and Priscilla Sanders. Children she also considered as her own; Marshall, Thurman, Winter, Kim, Anthony and many many more, most scariest nephew Demetric Sr. (Dek), two aunts; Della Graves of Marion, SC, Dorothy Graves of Philadelphia. Her softballl family, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
