Bro. James Lee Rogers was 74, and departed this life Wednesday December 18, 2019 in Dillon County. He was the husband of Celestine Rogers. You may visit the family at 720 Gresham Rd. Gresham, SC

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Bethel AME Church, Britton's Neck Saturday December 21, 2019 at 11:00 am. He will be laid to rest in the Old Neck Cemetery.

James Lee “RJ”Rogers was born on April 23, 1945 to the late John and Lizzie Rogers in Britton’s Neck, South Carolina. He departed this life on December 18, 2019 in Dillon South Carolina. He was preceded in death by four siblings: Hattie Graves, Carrie Bell Gause, Malachia Rogers and Canty Rogers.

James Lee received his education from Bethel School in Britton’s Neck, South Carolina. He was a self taught brick mason who mastered his trade form more that forty years.

James Lee was joined on holy matrimony to Celestine Rogers on April 13, 1968. From this union, two children were born.

Those left to cherish his memories are his devoted wife: Celestine Rogers, his children: Andrea (Kitt) Johnson and Tony (Davidette) Rogers both of North Charleston, South Carolina, four grandchildren: Ta’shaun Rogers, Jaeda Rogers, Samaria Garner and Monique Garner, two sisters: Sadie Graves of Britton’s Neck and Shirley (Leroy) Brown of Marion, South Carolina, two brothers: John Rogers Jr. and Event Rogers both of Britton’s Neck, South Carolina, five sisters-in- law, two brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. One close friend: John Henry Moore of Britton’s Neck, South Carolina.
