Isabella Fling Moody

Mother Isabella Fling Moody, 90, departed the life Friday January 4, 2019 in Marion County. She was the mother of Bettie J. Hughes, Robert Moody and Ernestine Moody. You may visit the family at 505 Henry McGill Jr. St.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Spring Branch Baptist Church Thursday January 10, 2019 at 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest in the Jackson & Daughters Cemetery, Marion.

Isabella was born on November 2, 1928 in Marion County, SC to the late David Fling and Hattie Williams Fling. She transitioned to her heavenly home on Friday, January 4, 2019.

Isabella graduated from Marion County Training School Class of 1947. She also graduated from Marion County Practical Nursing Program class of 1973, as a Licensed Practical Nurse  (LPN).

Isabella joined Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where she was converted and baptized by the pastor, the late Rev. Graham. After marriage she joined Spring Branch Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. James Hall Sr. She served on the usher board, assistant clerk and the senior choir until her health begin to decline.

Isabella worked for thirty years at Marion Memorial Hospital (aka) Carolinas Hospital System. She was a very devoted nurse and spent most of her final working years as the Nursery Nurse. She loved feeding and rocking the newborn babies to sleep!

Isabella married the late Robert Moody Jr. on May 15, 1947; to this union four children were born. One daughter; Mary Helen Moody preceded her in death. Also, she was preceded in. death by two sisters; Magnolia Fling and Novella Fling Dixon; three brother; Boyd Fling, McNeil Fling and Ernest Fling; seven sisters-n-law and four brothers-n-law. 

Isabella's beautiful life and legacy will be forever cherished by her children; Robert (Yuko) Moody of San Jose, California, Bettie (Solomon III) Hughes of Marion, SC and Ernestine Moody of Charlotte, NC, grandchildren'; Robbie L. (Brenda) Bell of Columbia, SC, Angela (Henry) Ray of Hope Mills, NC, Regina (Joel) dykes of Wilmington, NC, Vikkie (Dewayne) High of Ladson, SC; great grandchildren: Latoya Bell of Mullins, SC, Joshua Dykes of Wilmington, NC, Alizdair Ray of Hope Mills, NC, Bregasia Harding, Michael Harding Jr, Dalaysia High and Destiny High of Ladson, SC; a very dedicated and devoted niece raised in the home of her parents as a sister; Hattie Fling Foreman of Marion, SC; two sisters-n-law; Lucy (Randy) Moody and Sally Moody both of Marion, SC, three brothers-n-law; Tom Robert and Clyde Moody all of Marion, SC and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, the Spring Branch Church family and friends.
