Iona Wilson (Wilson) Frazier

Mother Iona Wilson Frazier(affectionately known as Rab to family and friends), age 81, departed from a brief illness on July 20, 2018, in Smithfield, NC at SECU Hospice House

Mother Iona is survived by her children, Darrie Ross, of Charleston, SC; Franklin Wilson ( Joyce) of Pleasantville, NJ, Crystal Faye Wilson (Ernest Hawkins) of Zebulon, NC, Edwin Jay Wilson (Erika) of Charlotte, NC, Norman Quintin Wilson (La’Tonya) of Columbia, SC; her son-in-law Joseph Waters of Newark, NJ, her siblings Maxine Davis of Bronx, New York, Odell Wilson of Marion, SC; her grandchildren, Raymond Stegall Jr. of Charleston, SC, Chedric Waters of Burlington, NJ; Christopher Waters (Dawana) of East Orange, NJ,Teshome Garner ( Melissa) of Wendell, NC, Wayne Garner of Maine, Franklin Wilson Jr of Pleasantville, NJ, Ernest Hawkins II of Wake Forest, NC, Erin Hawkins of Zebulon, NC, Shawn Wilson of Pleasantville, NJ, Cohen and Cahri Wilson of Columbia, SC,  Ellis Wilson of Charlotte, NC.  6 great-grandchildren Malachi Garner, Peliya Waters, Duane Lindsey, Olivia Waters, Leah Waters, Kylee Wilson.  She is preceded in death by her spouse, Rev. Edward Frazier, parents,  one brother CL Wilson and a daughter, Brenda Waters.

Mother Iona was born on October 10, 1936 in the Wahee Community of Marion County, SC, to parents Rev. Susanne Grant  and  Elmus Blackwell.  She was educated in Marion County Schools.   Iona held various positions at Russell Stover’s, Southern Packing and Anvil, where she worked until retirement.
