Mother Hallie Berta Cochran Graham was born on June 19, 1925 to the late Hallie K. Cochran and Monroe Davis in Marion County, South Carolina.  She departed this earthly life on Thursday, November 15, 2018.

Hallie was a graduated of Terrell’s Bay High School, Centenary, South Carolina.

She was married in holy matrimony to the late Wilson Graham on December 26, 1946.

Hallie was a farm worker before working for So-Pak-Co, Inc. in Mullins, South Carolina for many years.

She started out at the age of ten as a faithful member of St. James AME Church serving as a Sunday School secretary.  Later on, she joined the Gospel Choir, usher board, and became a member of the Missionary Society.  She provided leadership to the St. James Church Nurses’ Guild organization.  Hallie was also a great fundraiser for St. James.  The windows and pews in the old church were products of her hard fundraiser efforts.  She was a member of the Stevenson Chapter #316 Order of Eastern Stars and Joint Stock. One of the significant accomplishments that Hallie received was the honor to be recognized in a session of the South Carolina General Assembly.  This recognition was given through a Senate resolution on the occasion of her 90th birthday on June 19, 2015.

Despite the significant roles in the community which Mother Hallie served, family and friends were her upmost passion and delight.  She was loyal and supportive of not only to her children but her  nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews also. Mother Hallie was a fighter for life while gracefully covering her family. She was devoted to them and considered them her first responsibility.
