Evangelist Rebecca Lee Obituary

Evangelist Rebecca Lee aka Florence , 79, departed this life on Friday August 24, 2018 in Florence, SC. She was the mother of Derotha Myers, Carrie Ann Lee and Diann Adams. You may visit the family  at the home of her brother Ernest Brown at 809 Ernest Drive, Marion.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held the Door of Hope Christian Church, Marion, Friday August 31, 2018 at 1:00pm. She will be laid to rest in the Jackson & Daughters Cemetery, Marion.

The Obituary

Evangelist Rebecca Lee affectionately known as “Mu” to her children and grands, aka “ Florence Brown departed life on August 24, 2018 after a long period of illness. God saw she was tired and took her home to rest.

Evangelist Rebecca Lee aka Florence Brown was born on December 25, 1938 to the late Rev. June Brown and Mother Edgienora Brown of Marion County South Carolina. Rebecca was the second oldest of a total of seven siblings namely; deceased Detroit “Troy” Rogers (oldest), deceased Carl “Buddy” Brown, deceased Roosevelt “Squeak” Brown, Ernest “Boot” Brown, Judy Mae Brown and Shirley Ann “Mink” Brown.

On August 24, 2018 about 8:27pm at Carolina Hospital System of Florence, South Carolina after seventy-nine years of devoted, faithful and persistence service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ of Nazareth. She disrobed from her old earthly body and transformed into her heavenly angelic body. Evangelist Rebecca Lee’s labor was not needed on earth any longer; therefore she was rewarded abundantly for the seeds she so diligently sewn. Evangelist Lee heard the Lords voice say “come on home well done thy good and faithful servant, you have been faithful over a few things and now I will make you ruler over much and enter into the Joy of the Lord. Obediently and quietly she heed to his call, resting ever so peacefully in his loving arms.

Evangelist Lee aka “Florence” accepted Christ into her life at an early age. She joined Sandy Grove Holiness Church, Saint Matthew Church where she served on the Senior Choir, Usher Board and a participating Minister of the sanctuary. In her later years Evangelist Lee became a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church in Mullins South Carolina, later to permanently became a member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, Mullins where the Rev. Curtis Campbell is the Pastor and First lady Wanda Campbell. She was in attendance to Mt. Ararat until her health declined.

Evangelist enjoyed cooking, cleaning, hair, gardening, yardwork, planting flowers and the most fruitful of them all was praying for others, because prayer changes everything.

The family members left to cherish her fond memories are her children; Derotha Lee Myers, Marion, SC, Carrie Ann Lee Gore, Marion, SC, Diann Lee Adams, Marion, SC, siblings; Ernest (Kate) Brown, Marion, SC, Shirley (JC) Brown, New Haven, Conn., five grandchildren; Elisabeth Fletcher, Peaches D. Myers, Fayetteville, NC, Shawanda R. Lee, Marion, SC, Sharhonda F. (Caleb) Buie Chukemeka, Marion, SC and Shavontae C. Myers, Charlotte, NC, five great grandchildren; Justice K. Cooper, Joslyn K. Cooper, Marion, SC, Aiden J. Myers, Charlotte, NC, Emmaneul Chukemeka, Marion, SC and Colten R. Small, Charlotte, NC, plus a generous host of nieces, nephews, a very special family member Drucilla Jarrett and family of Marion, SC and friends.
