~Obituary~

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away ~ Revelation 21:4

On Thursday, November 15, 2018, Elder Ada Mae Leonard Rowell 78, (affectionally called Mother) was surrounded by her children and family when she answered the call of her guardian angel to “enter a place of safety, peace, and joy”.

Ada Mae was born February 2, 1940, in Marion County to the late Hoyt and Lueizer Dunham Leonard.

She received her formal education in the Public Schools of Marion County.

At an early age she received Christ as her person Savior and became a member of the Oldfield Missionary Baptist Church where she sang on the choir. She affiliated herself with the following churches: Anointed Church of Deliverance, Holy Ghost Revival Center both of Mullins, SC and Christian Tabernacle Community Church, Conway, South Carolina.

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

Ada Mae heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Go preach my gospel,” saith the Lord, “Bid the whole earth my grace receive, Explain to them my sacred word, Bid them believe, obey, and live. “I’ll make my great commission known, And ye shall prove my gospel true By all the works that I have done, And all the wonders ye shall do.” When she heard his voice, she gladly accepted her call to the Gospel Ministry and was licensed as a minister by Elder Franklin Frisby.

She later affiliated herself with New Beginnings Temple of Praise, Mullins, South Carolina. She was a faithful and dedicated member serving on the Ministerial Staff, Intercessory Prayer Group on Monday evenings, attended Prayer & Bible Study Weekly and a regular attendee of church until her health began to decline. She supported her church spiritually and financially.

On June 24, 2016, she was officially ordained to the office of Elder during the Christian Covenant Fellowship of Ministries (CCFM) by the Presiding Prelate Bishop Michael A. Blue.

She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Dovie Rowell, Sr., and to this union six children were born. Two preceded her in death: Dovie Rowell, Jr., and James Rowell.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Hoyt and Lueizer D. Leonard. Three sisters: Susie Eaddy, Wanda Leonard, and Mary Woodberry. Two brothers: George Leonard and Joe Leonard. One granddaughter: Little Ms. Mashae Rowell.

Elder Ada Mae Rowell leaves to cherish her beautiful memories: two daughters: Lorrie Rowell and Lueizer Washington both of Mullins, SC; two sons: Bernard (Michelle) Rowell of Mullins, SC; and Rondie (Jackie) Rowell of Marion, South Carolina. Eight grandchildren; and seven grandchildren. Three sisters: Laura Fladger; Minister Deloris Leonard; and Prophetess Debra (Billy) Ward of all Mullins, SC; One brother: Rev. Hoyt (Bobbie Ann) Leonard of Mullins, SC; two sisters in-law: Ms. Dorothy Reed and Ms. Minnie Lee Rowell both of Marion, SC; one brother in-law: Mr. John (Jenevie) Rowell of Marion, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and two special friends: Ms. Laura Mae Wortham and Ms. Joyce Lawson both of Mullins, SC.

God has smiled on our mother he has set her free, God saw her pain, he knew it was more than she could bare. And with open arms called our mother home. We will miss her but, one day we know We will see her smiling face. With Love, Lorrie, Lueizer (Bebe), Bernard and Rondie
