David Lee Fling departed departed this life Saturday September 7, 2019 in Marion County. 

Funeral services were held at the Jackson & McGill Memorial Chapel Wednesday September 18, 2019 at 1:00 pm.

Mr. David Lee Fling better known to many as “Rope” son of the late Mr. Charlie B. And Mrs. Chrissy Fling was born in Centenary South Carolina on August 5, 1938 and entered into eternal rest on Saturday September 7, 2019 at MUSC Health Care Center, Marion South Carolina. 

David attended the public school of Marion County, South Carolina. He was a member of Good Hope AME Church Centenary, South Carolina.

David worked with La-Z-Boy Company for twenty three years and retired in 1990.

He was preceded in death by two children, five brothers, four sisters, one daughter and one son-n-law. 

Mr. David leaves to cherish his fond and loving memories three daughters Annette Willis of Rains, South Carolina, Magdalene Fling of Mullins, South Carolina, Victoria Godbolt of Centenary, South Carolina, one son Mr. Marty Davis of Marion, South Carolina, thirteen grandchildren, thirty six great grandchildren, eight great, great grandchildren, two sisters-in-laws; Willa Mae Fling of New York, Mildred (Levern) Bethea of Rains, South Carolina, two brothers-in-law; Jessie Williams of Rains South Carolina, John Rowell of Friendship South Carolina, and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and very supportive and loving friends.
