Mother Clara Lawrence, 94, departed this life on Thursday September 27, 2018 in Marion County. She was the mother of Janice Ellerbe. You may visit the family at 3510 Sterying Rd. Mullins.
Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Sellers Chapel Baptist Church, Sellers, SC, Saturday October 6, 2018 at 3:00 pm. She will be laid to rest in the Sellers Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery Sellers, SC.

The quiet manner and gentle speech in the life of Clara Lawrence, daughter of the late Benjamin and Mattie Lawrence was born October 30, 1923 in Sellers South Carolina. She departed this life on Thursday, September 27, 2018.
She attended the public school in Sellers South Carolina. She later moved to Washington DC where she graduated from Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School. She attended Margaret Murray Vocational School in Washington, DC, concentrated her studies in writing and design. She joined Sellers Chapel at an early age and served for a number of years as clerk of the Missionary Society. She was a dedicated employee of Soco Packaging, She received recognition for her performance and attendance and later retirement.
She was preceded in death by a son Lee Curtis Hampton, sister Albertha Nowling, cousin (reared as a sister) Lumisha, nephew Caspher Phone Nowling.
She leaves to cherish fond memories her daughter Janice Anita Ellerbe of Mullins SC, one grandson Jaworshki Randolph Ellerbe, Sellers, SC, one great-grand daughter Jasmine Ellerbe of Mullins SC, niece (loved as a daughter) Inez Green. Other nieces and nephews Mitchell (Cordelia) Green, Brenda (Glen) Alston, Val (Ann) Green, Stephanie (Ray) Green-Keniebrew, Michael (Rachel) Green, Peter (Angelia) Green, Gail Green, Rodney Green, Paul Green, Al Green and Deborah Green. Also leaves to cherish her memory nineteen great great grands and eight great great great grand nieces and nephews, three godchildren Gertie (Herbert) Lee, Rubie Ross and Sylvia Jones Davis, a special friend Pervis Grice and other family members and friends.
