Billie Clark Obituary

Sister Billie Lou Clark was 72, and departed this life Saturday December 28, 2019 in Charleston, SC. She was the mother of Kenneth Clark, Kevin Barr, Tansy Wilkerson, Larissa Barr, Aimee Williamson, Michelle Wilson. You may visit the family at 268 Harper Rd. Marion. 

Wake services are scheduled to be held at the Jackson & McGill Memorial Chapel Friday January 3, 2020, 6:00pm -7:00pm. Bright Star Chapter #212 OES and 
Tent will be in charge of rites.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held Greater Singletary AME Church, Saturday January 4, 2020 at 11:00 am She will be laid to rest in the Greater Singletary AME Church Cemetery.

Billie Lou Sanders Clark was born July 8, 1947 to the late Fleming Sanders Sr. and Minnie Lee Davis in Marion County, South Carolina.  She gained her Heavenly wings at 5:15pm on Saturday December 28, 2019 at MUSC Charleston, South Carolina.  

Billie Lou attended school in the Marion County Public Schools and is a graduate of Johnakin High School class of 1966, she later graduated from Florence Darlington Technical College in 1974 and was a Dental Assistant until she retired. Billie Lou was the mother of seven and many more, grandmother of 22 and a great grandmother of 18. She also raised her six brothers and sisters after her mother’s passing. Billie has spent her entire life in the church and is a longtime member of Greater Singletary A.M.E. Church where she has served on various boards and auxiliaries, Usher board #2, The Young Adult Choir, President of the Missionary Society, member of the Stewardess Board Layman, Pastors Aide Ministry, Worthy Matron of Bright Star Chapter #212 OES, People Benevolent Society #76, Star of Bethlehem Tent #30, True Vine Temple #1368, I.V.O.P.E of the World and Greater Christ Temple of Marion, SC. 

Billie Lou was preceded in death by her husband Oscar R. Clark, her father Fleming Sanders Sr, her mother Minnie Lee Davis Sanders, brothers Fleming Sanders Jr and Johnnie Lee Sanders and sisters Diane B. Sanders Gray, Debra Ann Rowell and Leatha Lee Atkins Wiggins.

Billie Lou leaves to cherish her loving memory-her children: Roy (Gena) Bartell, Kenneth (Debra) Clark of Marion, SC, Michelle Wilson of Mullins, SC, Kevin Barr of Columbia, SC, Tansy Wilkerson of Raleigh, North Carolina, Larissa Barr of Mullins, SC, Aimee Williamson of Mullins, SC, Keayonna Cark and Diamond Brown of the home. Sisters Louise Wellington (Pearlie) Johnson of Marion, SC, Helen Roberts of Atlantic City NJ , Marilyn McClendon of St. Petersburg, FL, Brother Eddie McClendon of St. Petersburg, FL and Johnnie Johnson of Marion, SC.  Brothers in law: Nathaniel (Odessa) Rowell, Rev. Albert Rowell, James Arthur (Michelle) Rowell,  Glen (Carolyn) McClide, James Parnell Berry, Earline Rowell, McIntyre (Cathy) Rowell, Yvonnie (Kenneth) Spears and Carmel Moore and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and sorrowing friends.
