Bertha Harrison Woodberry

Mother Bertha Harrison Woodberry, 105, departed this life Thursday December 20, 2018 at her home in Gresham, SC. She was the mother of Albert Woodberry. You may visit the family at 236 East Highway 378, Gresham.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Bethel AME Church, Britton's Neck, Friday December 28, 2018 at 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest in the Old Neck Cemetery, Britton's Neck. 

~ Obituary ~

Mrs. Bertha Harrison Woodberry was born to the late Mrs. Maggie Cain and Mr. Jerry Harrison on Friday, September 5, 1913. 

She was educated in Sumter County in South Carolina. She later was joined in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Huger Woodberry, known to everyone as “Pop”. 

Mrs. Bertha Harrison Woodberry, confessed that Jesus Christ is her Lord and Savior.. Later in life Mrs. Woodberry better known as “Momma Bertha” joined Bethel AME Church, Britton’s Neck, SC. She remained here until she became the” Mother of the Church”.

Tuesday morning, December 20, 2018, the Lord God called His child home unto him. 

Mrs. Bertha Harrison Woodberry leaves to cherish her fond and loving memories to her daughter Katie Frances Pinkney of Pamplico, SC and a son: Albert (Joye) Woodberry of the home, 10 grandkids, twenty-two great grandkids, eleven great-great grandkids and six great-great great grandkids, also a host of family friends and church family to rejoice in her beloved memories.
