Arnetha Daymond Obituary

Mother Arnetha Daymond, 81, departed this life Monday October 7, 2019 in Marion County. She was the mother of Carl Duncan and Ebony Hall. You may visit the family at 500 Owens St. Marion.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Marion Saturday October 12, 2019 at 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest in the Devotion Gardens Cemetery, Mullins.

~ Obituary ~

Mother Arnetha D. Daymond was born on May 10, 1938 in Loris, South Carolina.  She departed this earthly life on Monday, October 7, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.  She was the daughter of the late Charles and Lela Duncan.

Arnethawas raised and earned her education in Marion County, South Carolina. She later located to Staten Island, New York where she shared a loving marriage of forty-two years with the late Contell Daymond Jr.  While in New York, Arnetha was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.  She was employed with the New York State Department of Mental Health and Hygiene for thirty-five years.  She was a member of the Rose of Sharon Chapter #1 and Oriental Grand Chapter of Eastern Stars State of New York Inc.

After retirement, Arnetha returned to her hometown of Marion, South Carolina.  She returned to Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a member of the Pastor’s Aide Ministry, Missionary Society, Kitchen Ministry and Deaconess Ministry.

Mother Daymond was preceded in death along with her parents; her husband: Contell Daymond Jr.; brother: James Duncan; sister: Ramona Leonard; brothers-n-law: Joseph Daymond, Otis Lee Daymond and Joseph Daymond.

Mother Daymond leaves to cherish her loving memories ~ six children: Carl Duncan, Stephen Foxworth both of Marion, SC, Michael Foxworth of Queens, NY, Darryl (Faye) Bass of Brooklyn, NY, Jeffrey Bass of Staten Island, NY and Ebony (Willie) Hall of Marion, SC; three brothers: Thomas (Sylvia) Duncan of Somers Point, NJ, Wallace Duncan and Ricardo Duncan both of Marion, SC; ten grandchildren: DeCarltric Duncan of Gastonia, NC, Arnesha Duncan of Lexington, SC, Brandy Crawford, Carlton Wise, Chakiela Reaves, Jasmine Carson all of Marion, SC, Joycelynn (Carlton) Pendleton of Hinesville, GA, Marcellino Rivero of Norfolk, VA, Brandon Reaves of Jacksonville, FL; eleven great grandchildren; brothers-n-law: Lawrence Daymond, David Daymond, Thomas Daymond, Lawrence Sleurs; sisters-n-law: Margaret Sleurs, Yvonne Daymond, Judy Daymond, Josephine Daymond, Alma Daymond, Almeta Daymond and Maxine Daymond all residing in Florida; a special friend: James Hughes of Marion, SC; a special ex-daughter-n-law: Dr. Kathy Hunter and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends
