Albertha Gerald Obituary

Mother Albertha Gerald, 92, departed this life Wednesday January 9, 2019 in Marion County. She was the mother of Celestine Crawford, Sabrina Johnson and Bernard Gerald. You may visit the family at 802 Simmons St. Marion.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Door of Hope Christian Church Tuesday January 15, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Mother Albertha Gerald will be laid to rest in the Jackson & Daughters Cemetery, Marion.

Ecclesiastes 3: 1~ To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.

A Time To Be Born*
Psalm 127: 3 ~ Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord. Mother Albertha Mason Gerald was born on April 24, 1926 to the Late Bishop William and Francis Legette Mason.

A Time To Die*

Mother Albertha Gerald fought a good fight, she kept the faith and on Wednesday January 9, 2019 her course was finished.

A Time To Learn*

Mother Gerald received a formal education in Marion County Public Schools.

A Time To Love*

Mother Gerald met and married Mr. Levoster Gerald of Mullins South Carolina. To this union several children were born.

A Time To Serve*

Ecclesiastes 12:1~ Remember your creator in the days of your youth.

Mother Gerald received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was brought up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Her father and mother instilled in her the importance of having and maintaining a close relationship with her God. As mother Gerald continued to walk with the Lord she met Bishop AR and 1st Lady Gibbons. With the leading of the Holy Spirit she became a faithful member of Miracle Temple until Bishop Gibbons health failed.

God had a ram on the bush in the person of Bishop Eugene Parks of Anointed Church of Deliverance. Bishop Parks took up the mantle of his leader and became our shepherd.

Mother Gerald was not a chair occupying mother, she was a Incercessor, Counselor, Advocate, Peacemaker, Secretary, A Number 1 Trustee, Cook, Humanitarian  and a Mother In Zion. 

Mother Gerald was preceded in death by one daughter Bertha Ellen Gilmore, two sons; Ledaniel Gerald, Earl Kenneth Gerald Sr., one great grandson; Bryan Milik Crawford, seven sisters; Gerturde Davis, Odessa Boatwright, Eliza Williams, Bishop Annie Mae Jenkins, Rosena Thompson, Mary Elizabeth Carter and Pertell Johnson, nine brothers; Bishop Joseph Mason, Elmore Mason, William Mason Jr., James Allen Mason, Charlie Henry Mason, Paul Linwood Mason, Amos Mason, Lamar Mason and Milton Mason.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Celestine (Harry) Crawford of the home, Bernard (Annette) Gerald of Mullins, South Carolina, Derrick Gerald of Vidalia GA., Elder Sabrina (Bill) Johnson of Marion South Carolina, one brother; Samuel (Thelma) Mason of Trenton New Jersey, she also leaves twenty grandchildren five of which she raised: Keith (Janet) Gerald of Charleston South Carolina, Gregory (Jackie) Gerald of Atlanta GA, Shelonda (Jasor) Legette pf Penderboro South Carolina, Onezean (Juanico) Crawford of Friendship South Carolina, Earl (Sharon) Gerald Jr. of Marion South Carolina.

A host of great grands, great great grands, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, one very special friend Bessie Mae Wilson of Marion South Carolina; her prayer partner, church companion and confidant.

From the children and grandchildren, Mom we will always love you and we will never forget.
