Harry James Obituary

Bro. Harry James,70, departed this life of Sunday April 8, 2018 in Marion County. He was the father of Stacie Torres, Alan James and Otis Leroy James. You may visit the family at the home of his sister in law Debra Gerald at 4326 Bayou Village, Mullins.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Monday April 16, 2018 at 1:30pm. He will be laid to rest in the Devotion Gardens Cemetery, Mullins.

On Sunday April 8, 2018, God saw a flower that was ready to be pick. The flower name was Harry James.

He departed his life at his residence in Mullins. Harry was the son of the late Richard and Esther Elizabeth Smith James.

He was born on July 26, 1947 in Mullins South Carolina. He attended school in Mullins. Later in life he went to live in New York where he worked on several jobs. After retiring from Bear Sterns Investment Banking as a security officer, he returned back to Mullins in 2009.

Harry will be truly missed by his family and friends.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Richard James and Esther Elizabeth Smith James, his wife Mrs. Betty G. James, his brother, Mr. Ernest James, his grandson Otis James Jr. and a brother-in-law Mr. Issac Campbell.

Harry leaves to cherish fond memories three children, one daughter; Stacie (Claude) Torres of Maryland, two sons, Allan James of Bronx New York and Otis James of Brooklyn New York, five grandchildren, Tyjaan and CJ Torres of Maryland, Jazmine James of Brooklyn New York, Shante Magwood of Brooklyn New York, Marliana James of Atlanta Ga, one great grand Maliyah Faith Smith of Brooklyn New York. Four sisters; Betty (Frank) Hamilton of Mullins, SC, Dorothy Campbell of Willingboro New Jersey, Queen Esther of Brooklyn New York and Barbara Ann (Larry) Brown of Wilmington, NC, three brothers; Richard (Shirley) James of Manning, SC, Franklin (Faye) James of Bronx NY, Matthew (Merriam) James, Brooklyn NY, two fond nephews; Tyarti Gerald of Columbia, SC and Xaizer Lock of Crestview Florida, three sisters-in-law; Annie M. (Abraham) Isreal of Marion, SC, Helen Grant of Mullins, SC, Debra (Larry) Leonard of Mullins, SC. Debra was the person that he could rely on. A faithful neighbor; Mrs. Lila Silver and a close family friend Mr. Warren Legette of Monroe, NC, a close niece Diane Lock of Crestview Florida and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members.
