Bro. Edward McKenzie 78, departed this life on Friday July 28, 2017 in the Carolina Hospital System of Marion. He was the brother of Raymond McKenzie. You may visit the family at the home of his sister Sarah Owens at 907 Strawberry St. Marion. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00am Friday August 4, 2017 at the Jackson & McGill Memorial Chapel, Marion. He will be laid to rest in the Jackson & Daughters Cemetery, Marion.

Deacon Edward Frank McKenzie was born in Bucksport South Carolina on September 30, 1938 to the late Frank and Edna McKenzie. Deacon McKenzie was better known by his family and friends as “Pete”.

Deacon McKenzie accepted Christ late in his life and joined Mt. Zion Holiness Church in Nichols South Carolina under the leadership of Rev. Frankie Thomas.

Vere Howard McKenzie, wife, preceded him in death. Siblings that preceded him in death, four sisters: Daisy Gause, Virginia Henburg, Dorothy Johnson, and Katherine Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memories: A son: Michael “Ricky” McKenzie, three brothers : Raymond (Janie) McKinzie, Joseph (Mary) McKenzie and James McKenzie all of Columbia South Carolina, two sister: Jeanette Johnson of Scotsdale Arizona and Sarah Owens of Marion South Carolina, one granddaughter Freda Balkcon and one great granddaughter Paris Ruthie Balkcon, three sisters-in-law; Janie Mae Brown, Alice Nichols of Mario South Carolina and Jean Howard of Mullins South Carolina, two brothers-in-law; Wesley Johnson and Clyde Gause, a special niece Joyce Bristow of Marion South Carolina, a special nephew; Willie Clarence (Pam) Cross of Philadelphia, PA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
