Sister Daphine Ann Stoutamire 65, departed this life on Tuesday November 21, 2017 in Florence, SC. She was the mother of Mary Smith Davis, Angie Smith, Avon Stoutamire. You may visit the family at 706 Green St. Marion, SC.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Monday November 27, 2017 at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest in the Florence National Cemetery, Florence, SC.

OBITUARY

Mrs. Daphine Ann Stoutamire was born in Marion, South Carolina to the late Frank Phillips and Shirley Johnson and was reared by Sallie B. Davis for birth. She attended the public schools on Marion County. She was married to Willie Stoutamire who preceded her in death, also preceded her in death was her loving mother; Sallie B. Davis, Shirley Johnson Roberts and one sister Essie J. Tenney.

Daphine departed this life on Tuesday November 21, 2017 in the Carolina Hospital Systems, Florence, South Carolina.

Daphine was a very lively and lovable person who never met a stranger. She was a faithful and dedicated member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where she attended regularly and saw that her family attended on a regular basis. They were providentially hindered from being there. She was a member of the Inspirational Choir. She never refused to help and assist when needed. She was a member of Progressive Chapter #104 OES, Nichols, SC. And Daughter of Elks True Vine Temple 1368 IBPOE.

Daphine was a licensed foster care parent for many years. She loved and cared unselfishly for many foster children.

Daphine leaves to cherish her loving memories three daughters Mary T. (Richard) Davis, Angie Smith of Marion, SC. And Avon Stoutamire of the home. She was a proud and loving grandmother of Cameron Smith and Joel J. Davis of Marion, SC., four brothers Lorenzo (Marilyn) Johnson of Texas, Johnny Johnson and Nathaniel Gerald of Marion, SC. And Clark Davis of Columbia, SC., two sisters Linda F. Davis of Marion, SC and Frances Conner of Greensboro, NC. A very special cousin Mrs. Sylvia D. Smalls of St. Stephens, SC, two very special friends Dorothy Brunson and Gusand Weeks of Marion County. A host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
