Sis. Betty Alene Rogers 69, departed this life on Sunday July 2, 2017 in the Carolina Hospital System, Florence, SC. She was the mother of Travial Rogers and the grandmother of Jasmine Gause . You may visit the family at 419 Henry McGill Jr. St. Marion. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00am Monday July 10, 2017 at the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, Mullins. She will be laid to rest in the Florence National Cemetery, Florence, SC. Rev. Curtis Campbell, Officiating.

Betty Alene Rogers was born on January 2, 1948 in Marion County, South Carolina.  She was the daughter of Virginia C. Legette and the late Eugene Legette.  She departed this earthly life on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the Carolinas Hospital System in Florence, South Carolina. Betty received her former education at Johnakin High School in Marion, South Carolina. She spent time Arizona and Georgia; however she spent the majority of her life in Marion, South Carolina.

Betty was a member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church under the pastoralship of Reverend Curtis Campbell.  She served as a member of the Missionary and Hospitality Board.  She also worked as an Employment Specialist at Marion Dillon County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs from September 2002 until August 2015 before she retired.  Her love for family, friends, co-workers, strangers, many pets and flowers will never be forgotten.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband: Willie Lee Rogers; father: Eugene Legette and brother: Henry Eugene Legette.

Betty leaves to cherish wonderful memories ~ her mother: Virginia C. Legette of Mullins, SC; daughter: Travial L. Rogers of Marion, SC; grand-daughter: Jasmine Faith “Mook” Gause of Marion, SC; one uncle: Bernice Currie; one aunt: Ruby Currie; sister-n-law: Mildred Legette; her special friends: Joe Baldwin, Peggy Brown, Lula Mae Floyd and Henrietta Yates and a host of other relatives and friends.
